Enjoy these delicious medal winners from the 2022 Halliday Wine Companion:
2018 Touriga Nacional x 2 - Gold Medal
"Delicious. Exciting. Savoury, layered and complex, this has oodles of mulberry, blackberry, raspberry and red liquorice. It’s both salty and sweet, with juicy acid firmly entrenched between the two, providing balance, finesse and depth. Not enough can be said in favour of this wine. It has great length of flavour, and evolution across the palate too. A superstar from a brilliant vintage."

2017 Touriga Nacional Sousaõ x 2 - Outstanding Silver Medal
"Two Portuguese varieties, touriga and sousao, hand picked from a single vineyard. Tiny production – just 75 cases. Mulberry, satsuma plum, earthy tannins and a plush, savoury character that is very much ‘not from here'. This has a cleansing acid line that keeps the dense, fresh fruit in check, while the suggestion of blood, ferrous, salted licorice and charcuterie make for very interesting drinking indeed. Balanced, exciting and quite delicious."

2021 Bastardo Rosé x 2 - new vintage of an old favourite
"Bastardo is the name of this Portugese variety, from the estate vineyard near Donnybrook. This is no shrinking violet. The wine verges on full bodied with layers of phenolics that serve as shelves for the fruit: raspberry, salted heirloom tomato, red apple and redcurrant. A lot to like here, a lot to think about as well. Not slippery, but textured.."
